Transizione Belper CIC

Transition Belper è un gruppo di persone del luogo che, come parte del più ampio movimento della Rete di Transizione, sta esplorando come re-immaginare e ricostruire il nostro mondo in questo periodo di crisi globale senza precedenti.

Fondata nel 2009, la Transition Belper è composta da persone di ogni età e provenienza. Ciò che ci unisce è il desiderio comune di agire per il bene della nostra comunità locale e del nostro pianeta.

Le nostre attività mirano a rendere la città di Belper un luogo più sostenibile in cui vivere, lavorare e giocare, riducendo al contempo l'impatto sul pianeta e l'impronta di carbonio individuale e comunitaria.

Our members deliver a number of projects and groups in Belper including: Inner Transition, our monthly Green Exchange, the Repair Café, a Travel and Transport group, conservation work in Belper Parks, Alton Manor Open Spaces conservation work, Acorn Rec conservation work and we have greened the verges at the Belper railway station. We support a monthly evening community meal – 3rd Friday Feast (3FF), which is vegan and pay as you feel – with profits going to a different charity each month. We support the Welcome Meal – a monthly lunchtime meal – open to all and pay as you feel. We have an Energy Group with a thermal imaging camera and solar powered trailer; who visit homes to give free energy advice. We have teamed up with the local cinema to bring a range of Eco-based films to the community. We also publish a monthly newsletter. Chris Ring Apple Day – named after the founder who died in 2024. It is a celebration of all things apple-related Blossom Day – a community celebration of Spring in Belper

Our main event is “Belper Goes Green”, Transition Belper’s Community, Eco and Arts Festival – a celebration of local living, which aims to share ways of reducing our impact on the planet, whilst connecting the local community in a relaxed, safe and uplifting way. Hopefully we will see you there in 2026!
