The “Tempo de Plantar” movement\u00a0 (https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/tempodeplantar2025\/), led by Paulo C\u00e9sar Ara\u00fajo, a member of the Bras\u00edlia Transition Towns group, is an environmental initiative aimed at fostering reforestation and sustainability across Brazil. The movement’s central goal is to inspire collective action for planting trees and regenerating the environment. It has a strong focus on promoting the unconditional love and respect for all beings on Earth, emphasizing the importance of reconnecting with nature.<\/p>\n
Through the work of the \u201cInstituto Regenerativo Tempo de Plantar” (Planting Day\u00a0 regenerative institute),\u00a0 the movement successfully advocated for the creation of the \u201cLei do Dia de Plantar\u201d (Planting Day Law) which encourages the nationwide celebration of a day dedicated to planting trees. The movement envisions a future where communities across Brazil can plant 1 million trees in a single day, representing a powerful symbol of collective environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n
At its core, “Tempo de Plantar” is not only about environmental restoration but also about cultivating love, solidarity, and responsibility towards nature and all life on Earth. The association will seek to achieve its objectives through all forms of action. In Pacha Mama Alliance Kenya, we deeply felt that together we all can play the role of game changers in making our planet better for future generations.”<\/p>\n Under my guidance since around 2017, the Organization has hosted transformative programs like training workshops for youths and community groups, planting trees over 150,000 in schools, public lands and churches, established over 40 trees and fruits seedbeds and nurseries to 42 groups, over 500 household have benefitted and reaching over 700 participants\u2014primarily youth and families\u2014to instill ecological literacy and personal responsibility.<\/p>\n These sessions blend storytelling, science, and practical skills, encouraging attendees to view themselves as stewards of the land rather than exploiters. The organization’s flagship projects center on hands-on conservation, with tree planting as a cornerstone.<\/p>\n Beyond reforestation, the CBO promotes permaculture and regenerative agriculture, establishing demonstration farms that teach drought-resistant farming, waste management, and sustainable food systems.<\/p>\n During the COVID-19 pandemic, it pivoted to relief efforts, distributing food kits, prevention supplies, and tree seedlings to vulnerable families, while integrating environmental education into school curricula via partnerships like ENO Kenya.<\/p>\n Pacha Mama Alliance Kenya’s approach is deeply collaborative, aligning with the global ethos of “skillful alliances” where credit is secondary to impact.<\/p>\n It partners with schools, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), and international bodies like the Global Compassion Coalition to amplify reach.<\/p>\n Funding comes from well-wishers, self-fundraising,donations and grands(only if fund application got approved). Challenges persist\u2014such as limited resources and climate unpredictability\u2014but successes like reduced schoolyard erosion and heightened youth activism demonstrate resilience.<\/p>\n In essence, Pacha Mama Alliance Kenya is more than a conservation group; it’s a beacon of hope, weaving Indigenous-inspired wisdom into local action to heal the planet and its people.
