Your trainer/facilitator bio

Yvonne Omatseye is leading community-led transformation in Nigeria through food, climate action, and education. With the Royal Iwere Foundation, she founded the Love Garden Project in schools, established Climate Action Clubs, and launched a community climate group in the Niger Delta. These initiatives unite children, families, and communities to grow food, reconnect with nature, and explore alternatives to fossil fuel dependence.

In March 2025, Yvonne co-facilitated a Transition training in Lagos with the Permaculture Association and launched Transition Town Warri, bringing the Transition movement into one of Nigeria’s most oil-dependent yet impoverished regions.

Her journey with Transition began in 2014 with the Marsden and Slaithwaite Transition Town (MASTT) in the UK, inspiring her to adapt Transition practices to African realities. Yvonne’s focus spans food and nature projects, visioning, local economy, youth, creativity, and building networks. She is committed to amplifying African voices in the Transition Network.
