West Chester Area Transition
Last Updated: 730 days ago
An outgrowth of the West Chester Green Team which addresses issues of energy, climate, pesticides, and plastics, a transition initiative has emerged with its focus on community gardening, soil restoration through meadows and reduction in single use plastics. A team of 6 met online for our first brainstorming meeting. Additional recommendations emerged from about a dozen Green Team members. We have received advice and support from Transition Towns–Phoenixville and Media as well as the US national office. We are working in collaboration with West Chester University, Chester County Environmental Alliance, Sierra Club Ready for 100, West Chester Co-operative, Buy Nothing, West Chester and local governments.
