Urban Blossom
Urban Blossom hopes to become a bridge connecting urban residents with the countryside, agriculture, the land, and mother nature.
We are a group of partners based in Taichung. Since 2024, we have believed that ecological environments can also be cultivated within cities, and that urban areas can nurture their own place-based ecological communities. Therefore, we began by creating soil, promoting household food-waste composting solutions in the city, practicing urban farming that learns to “dialogue with nature,” and encouraging diets based on friendly, responsibly grown crops. Through a “half-farmer, half-X” lifestyle, we encourage people to practice and prepare for living in greater harmony with nature.
Starting in 2026, we will engage in Transition Town practices such as open-space workshops and reading groups. Through these activities, we hope to connect with more partners who are already taking similar actions, and to co-create a diverse urban community network shaped by a rich ecological ecosystem. In this way, people living in cities can support and connect with one another, becoming a collective force moving toward a more Earth-friendly way of life.
