New Forest Transition

Last Updated: 139 days ago

The New Forest is an area of over 200 square miles comprising largely rural land with a scattering of towns, villages and very small hamlet communities.  The New Forest Hub aims to stimulate interest in Transition across the whole area and coordinate connections with other agencies, neighbouring Transition groups etc.

Since starting in November 2008 there have been many projects and events taking place.  One of our main themes is ‘local food’ – The New Forest Food Challenge aims to get people growing, buying and eating more local produce. Find them on Facebook.

We have a School and Community Energy Project involving over 20 local schools with the aim of reducing their energy consumption and educating the children, parents, teachers and governors at the same time!

There is an energy group that meets every two months, and also local groups in Lymington, Hale, Hyde and Downton.
