Activity Somewhat Active

The 125 ia approximately the number of people who came to an 'event' or meeting run by CAF. From September 2025 - August 2026 we ran 5 Plant-based Cooking sessions, with 10 people per event (1 or 2 missed through illness). 26 people came on a walk to see Frodsham Marshes and the site of the proposed Solar Farm. Other numbers are from our Community Seed & Seeding Swap (approx 35), our AGM (9 + 3 committee members - with a speaker from Cheshire Wildlife Trust) and two talks on 'Warmer Homes and Thermal Cameras'. (4 people,, but this led to a booking at the WI in September 2026.) We had an EV at Cheshire Car Show (in Frodsham) and talked to members of the public that day.

We have a constitution and small committee

'Food' with 'Plant-based Cooking Sessions' is our focus for 2026. We are running 4 of these in 2026 (and ran 7 in 2025) We will feature plant-based food and recipes on our stall at various events, as appropriate.

Climate Action Frodsham is the current working name for Frodsham Transition Initiative which began in January 2012.

We are a group of local people who are concerned about climate change and the effect it is already having on the lives of people and wildlife locally and globally.

We are also affiliated to Friends of the Earth.

OUR AIMS

The purpose of CAF is to help the community of Frodsham live a more sustainable way of life and to become happier and more resilient in the face of global uncertainties.

HOW

We help local projects get started, talk to people at events, give talks to local groups and schools. Organise workshops and green days. Send out a monthly newsletter usually by email. Produce information on what action we can all take and encourage people to join us.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

In 2024 we continued to run workshops on how to use thermal imaging cameras and reduce heat loss from homes.

With grant money from Frodsham Town Council we bought a thermal imaging camera for local people to borrow.

Our focus for 2024 was Travel and Transport.

We have developed Bus out Walk home days out- see website.

Watch out for orchard walks in the spring and autumn. Look out for us at local events such as Festival in the Park.

More of our activities can be found on our website.

For 2025 our focus was “Cut consumption and waste”

For 2026 our focus is on “Food”. We organise some “Plant-based Cooking Sessions” which are open to the general public. These are subsidised (by various organisations) and are very good value at £12 per person.

There are some other events during the year. We have started to have links to our most recent newsletters on our website.
