Sustainable Backwell has been running since Dec 2009. We have three groups: energy, food & transport. Since our beginning we have put on the following events:

Two family cycle days.

Public energy meeting.

Food talks and evenings

Garden share scheme and plant/fruit/seed swaps.

Two apple pressing events.

Draft sustainable energy plan.

Insulation for a dozen homes.

We are planning: 6 week permaculture course, community wind turbine, bulk buy solar, further development of the website.

We’re always looking for more members, ideas and collaborating with other groups.
